Dino’s, 1-3 Pelham Street, South Kensington, SW7

Dino's, South KensingtonSouth Kensington is famously featured in Roman Polanski’s 1965 study of murderous psychopathy Repulsion. Alongside South Ken tube station, Dino’s is virtually unchanged since Carole (Catherine Deneuve) was taken by wannabe boyfriend Colin (John Fraser) for a fish and chip lunch.

Opposite the station is the traffic island where she is disturbed by leering workman Mike Pratt. A few doors from Dino’s, and also unchanged, is the Hoop and Toy pub, where Colin drinks with his obnoxiously laddish mates, and further along, at 31 Thurloe Place, is the beauty salon which became ‘Madame Denise’s’, where Carole works before her spectacular descent into madness.
