In Notes On A Scandal, teacher Sheba Hart (Cate Blanchett) lives on Upper Park Road in Belsize Park, north London, so when she rushes out with Barbara Covett (Judi Dench) to the local pub and spills the beans about her affair with a pupil, you might suppose it’s the Haverstock Arms at the end of the street.

Although the Haverstock does indeed have tables on the street outside, the pub in the film is the Crown on Clerkenwell Green. It’s quite some distance away but the Green is more secluded for filming than the main road between Camden and Hampstead.
