Park Street, SE1

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, Park Street, BoroughTo the east of Southwark Bridge Road is the old Borough Market, set within a knot of beautifully preserved period streets dear to the hearts of film-makers, and so naturally a perfect area for redevelopment. See it now before it goes the way of Battle Bridge Road in King’s Cross.

Park Street, Borough, is a frequent location, seen in Keep the Aspidistra Flying, Howards End (Leonard Bast lives here) and, of course, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The gang’s hideout is 15 Park Street, while Dog’s place is 13 Park Street, next door – also the bike messenger HQ out of which Rupert Graves works in Different for Girls. Sean Connery brings Catherine Zeta-Jones here to buy the vase in Entrapment, and for a brief moment, Park Street becomes the entrance to ‘Kitchener Street’, the site of Spider’s childhood home in David Cronenberg’s film.
