While Mr Madonna plumbed the depths with Swept Away, then kept furiously digging with Revolver, his one-time producer Matthew Vaughn turned director and pulled off the seemingly impossible – a watchable British gangster movie. And starring the next Bond, to boot.

This was the flat of the unnamed hero (Daniel Craig). The flat itself, incidentally, used to be home to Guy Ritchie.

Trivia: Queens Gate Mews has previously appeared in two screen classics. It's where the unfortunate chauffeur gets his head shaved in Performance, and it was the location for the video of Benny Hill's Ernie, The Fastest Milkman In The West.
