Robert’s Place, Clerkenwell, EC1

ClerkenwellAt the top of Clerkenwell Close, between the Peabody Trust buildings, is Roberts Place, where you’ll find the flight of steps alongside which the robbers swap cars after the Hatton Garden diamond heist in A Fish Called Wanda.

On Clerkenwell Green itself, across the street, moustachioed getaway driver Wanda (Jamie Lee Curtis) is spotted by the old lady with the unfortunate dogs.

Nearby, on Clerkenwell Road at St John’s Square, stands the elaborate gate by which Ken (Michael Palin) disposes of evidence after the robbery. It’s the 16th century St John’s Gate, a remnant of the Priory of the Order of St John, which once stood on the site.
