63-65 Myddleton Square, SW7

Myddleton SquareMyddleton Square is a large, elegant and beautifully preserved development dating from 1827. 63-65 Myddleton Square, on the west side at Inglebert Street, is the home of Father Smythe (Jason Isaacs), the priestly confidant of Sarah Miles (Julianne Moore), in Neil Jordan’s adaptation of Graham Greene’s novel The End of the Affair.

St Mark's, Myddleton SquareThe elegant square is made to look weedy and grubby in Jordan’s film, which conjures an austere poetry from the exhausted shabbiness of the Forties. Across the street is St Mark’s Church, where Moore finds the investigator’s boy asleep in the doorway.
