The studio of photographer Anna (Julia Roberts) in Closer is 3-11 Westland Place, near Old Street tube. It really is an artists’ studio but, sadly, no, it’s not run by Julia Roberts.

Almost next door, at 15 Westland Place, is Jamie Oliverís Fifteen restaurant. Before being taken over by the ubiquitous TV chef, the building was itself a film location. In Rose Troche’s gay-themed comedy romance Bedrooms And Hallways, it was the spacious loft apartment of Leo (Kevin McKidd) and camper-than-camp flatmate Darren (Tom Hollander).

Trivia: Kevin McKidd and his devious bisexual love interest in Bedrooms and Hallways, James Purefoy, have both gone on to stardom in epic TV miniseries Rome.
