This traditional old city pub, not far from Liverpool Street Station, became the coppers’ local in Basic Instinct 2. I know the Met is traditionally a macho culture, but maybe a sprinkling of women police officers among the extras, as the director ruefully observes on the DVD commentary, would have made it look less like a gay bar.
