5 Lower Grosvenor Place , SW1

Victoria SquareIn the 1956 cameo-infested extravaganza Around The World in Eighty Days, Passepartout (Mexican star Cantinflas) rides into Victoria Square on a penny-farthing bicycle. His destination is 5 Lower Grosvenor Place, the pepperpot-shaped building at the end of the narrow road leading out of the northeastern side of the square. This was ‘Hesketh-Baggott’s Employment Office’, where Mr Foster (John Gielgud) complains to his boss Hesketh-Baggott (Noël Coward), and Passepartout gets the job as gentleman’s gentleman to Phileas Fogg (David Niven).
